Frequently asked questions
Paramotoring is essentially powered paragliding. A lightweight two-stroke engine with a propeller is worn on the pilot's back, along with a paraglider wing. Using a hand throttle, the pilot increases engine power, propelling forward until the wing inflates and generates lift.
Once airborne, the pilot can control altitude, direction, ascent, descent, and landing using throttle and brake inputs. Paramotors are considered one of the smallest and most versatile aircraft in the world. They can:
• Travel long distances
• Climb to altitudes over 10,000 feet
• Stay airborne for hours
• Take off and land in small, open fields
Currently, paramotors are imported as they are not manufactured in India.
A complete single-seater setup—including the paramotor, glider, and harness—costs approximately ₹7,00,000.
A single-seater paramotor typically weighs between 18–25 kg.
Initially, it may feel heavy on your back, but most students get accustomed quickly. The paramotor is worn only for a short duration before takeoff, and once airborne, the wing bears all the engine's weight, so there's no load on your back during flight.
Yes—most people can learn to fly a paramotor if they are:
• 14 years or older
• Physically fit
We recommend completing a non-powered paragliding course first to build strong fundamentals. Paramotoring also requires an understanding of:
• Meteorology
• Theory of flight
• Air navigation
• Air regulations
It is essential to train with a qualified and experienced instructor for both safety and skill-building.
Foot Launch:
• You carry the engine on your back.
• Requires running during takeoff and landing.
• Your legs act as landing gear, so physical fitness is crucial.
• Offers better maneuverability and can operate in tighter spaces.
Paratrike (Trike Launch):
• The engine is mounted on a three-wheeled cart (trike).
• No running required—more suitable for those with physical limitations.
• The landing gear handles takeoff and touchdown.
• Requires smoother terrain and more space than foot launch.
