Peth Fort – Kotilgad

Peth (Kotilgad) – 1550 ft is a small fort with a large cave at its base. It is detached from the main range. It has an interesting fortification at the top in the shape of a funnel with rocky staircase carved in the middle. This funnel is known as Kotligad. The lower plateau is connected with Wandre Khind on the ghats in the east.

Programme

Leave for Ambivli by jeep / bus (7:00 a.m). Arrive Ambivli by 9:30 a.m. upon arrival proceed on the trail to Peth Fort. Arrive at Peth village by 11.00 a.m. After rest continue on the trail. Arrive at the fort by 12.30 p.m. After spending some time, exploring the fort descend to Peth Village for lunch. After lunch, head for the base, Ambivli. Arrive at the base by 4:30 p.m. Depart for Mumbai by sumo/bus. Arrive Mumbai by 7.00 p.m. Getaway ends.
